The Waldeck Strandbad pier is the main pier for passenger boat service on Lake Eder!
“A boat trip is such fun!” aboard the state-of-the-art passenger ships “Stern von Waldeck” and “Edersee Star” operated by Edersee Passenger Shipping.
Depending on the water level, you can travel the entire length of Lake Edersee. But even on a shorter route, you’ll discover the charm of this lakeside landscape. Both ships offer lunch as well as coffee and cake.
Please refer to the schedules for departure times, prices, and information. These are available from Edersee Passenger Shipping, Edersee Marketing GmbH, many local businesses, and on the Edersee Passenger Shipping website.
The season typically runs from late March through October.
Departure times can be found on the passenger ferry service's website:
http://www.personenschifffahrt-edersee.de/
Getting There You can reach Waldeck-West via the Ederseerandstraße from both Scheid and Edertal-Hemfurth (dam). There, in the center of the lakeside, you’ll find the headquarters of the Edersee passenger ferry service and the Waldeck-Strandbad ferry dock. Parking Parking lot (cars + buses*) at Waldeck Strandbad. There is a fee for cars at this parking lot. You can purchase a daily parking ticket (cash). The parking ticket is then valid at all other paid parking locations in the municipality of Edertal and the city of Waldeck! Public Transportation Nearest bus stop(s): Waldeck - Strandbad Line(s): 503; 510 NVV Service Hotline: 0800-939-0800 All connections, including AST-Taxi connections, are listed in detail on the NVV schedule information page—www.nvv.de/fahrplanauskunft Tip for smartphone users: Download the “NVV Mobil” app from your app store before your trip! In general, you should also factor the “AST Taxi” (shared-ride taxi) into your planning. With the shared-ride taxis (AST), the NVV ensures mobility on routes that aren’t in such high demand. Instead of taking the bus, you’ll travel in regular taxis or rental cars. ASTs also have fixed schedules—you simply need to call and book your ride (usually) at least 30 minutes before departure. Keep in mind that ASTs only operate when no regular bus routes are running at the same time. Shared Taxi Dispatch Center: +49 (0) 5631-5062088
