Visit the unique "Museum Thonet" in Frankenberg (Eder) and experience design history up close - from the famous Viennese coffee house chair to iconic tubular steel classics.

Follow in the footsteps of Michael Thonet, who revolutionized the transition from traditional craftsmanship to industrial mass production in the 19th century. Thanks to his visionary entrepreneurial spirit, products and production techniques were constantly developed further. The result is the world-famous bentwood furniture, which is still manufactured in Frankenberg today according to Michael Thonet's original designs.

The museum not only displays an impressive collection, but also tells exciting stories. These range from the first pieces of furniture, which were purchased or traded in directly on site, to the rare pieces that Georg Thonet, the great-grandson of the company founder, has passionately tracked down all over the world.

Directly connected to the museum, the Thonet showroom awaits you: here you can experience current collections live, be inspired and find your favorite pieces for your home.

In the factory outlet, you also have the chance to purchase selected Thonet designs at attractive prices.

The museum combines history, design and innovation in one place. Thonet is looking forward to your visit!
