At the Medebach Municipal Museum, the town’s history comes to life: Set in a late 18th-century Sauerland townhouse, the exhibition traces the transformation of this old farming town into a modern vacation destination. Archaeological finds, everyday objects, crafts, themed rooms, and digital media stations offer vivid insights into prehistory and early history, the Middle Ages, church life, the economy, and the era of the world wars.

A special highlight is the model railroad layout depicting the former Steinhelle–Medebach narrow-gauge railway in the adjacent Hansesaal. It brings a piece of regional transportation history to life on a small scale and delights more than just railroad enthusiasts.

With hands-on activities for children, the museum is also ideal for families and offers a concise, lovingly designed introduction to the history of Medebach and its surrounding communities.
