The historic railroad tunnel in Bromskirchen is a special highlight along the GeoRadroute. But nature comes first: The tunnel is closed every year from October 1 to March 31.
The reason: the old tunnel serves as an important winter roost for bats. During this time, the protected animals use the structure for their hibernation and must not be disturbed.
Don't worry - the tour does not have to be interrupted! A well-signposted detour leads safely around the closed tunnel section so that you can continue on the GeoRadroute without any problems.
From April to September, the tunnel is open again and offers a special cycling experience with its cool, mystical ambience.
