The forest is the backbone of our cultural landscape. For more than 200 years, sustainable management has played a central role in forestry. Close-to-nature forest management can serve as an example of responsible human interaction with nature.
Exhibitions, an auditorium, seminar rooms and a café are available to visitors, hikers and guests.
The forest adventure area is home to a bison breeding farm that is unique in Germany and is accompanied by international scientific research.
Other animal species currently include wild horses, wild boar and white deer.
